United States Golf Teacher Federation, Class III
Private Golf Instructor
Rick Zivsak joined the 2Club Golf teaching staff in 2005 when we opened the facility. He has been a valuable asset to our teaching staff, introducing several juniors, teens, and adults to the game of golf.
Rick has been a golf instructor for over 28 years and has played and taught, at different competitive skill levels. His interest in becoming an instructor was peaked while a member of the golf team at Kent State University, now one of the finest golf programs in the Midwest. While at Kent, he was solicited to teach a beginners golf class..... and he has been teaching ever since. After graduation Rick went on to become an assistant at Aurora Country Club and gravitated toward competitors at the high school level. He enjoys motivating these students and challenges them to stay mentally tough by introducing them to M.G.M. (Mental Golf Managment).
Rick has has taught juniors, beginners, male and female, and competitors in the fifth grade through college. Rick has developed various programs for various interest groups and skill levels and one of his most popular has been a five lesson complete golf package for couples. He has held golf clinics for high school golf teams like Trinity and Walsh Jesuit and considers Jay Prospal, a member of the Walsh Jesuit Warriors back to back state championship golf team one of his shining stars. He has worked with Rob Kline Jr. since his sophomore year at Nordonia High and coached him through a stellar career in high school as well as four years at Notre Dame College.
While working in "Corporate America" for General Electric, Rick continued his one-on-one and group lessons, but recognized a need to offer corporations an alternative to the "2 hour lunch". Rick introduced a great compliment to a luncheon meeting, corporate golf clinics, and included putting, chipping, sand play and swing set-up to the corporate "menu". These clinics have offered valuable tips, and fun, for the valued customers of Merrill Lynch, John Hancock, General Electric, Smith Barney, Steammatic and Jani-King to name a few.
Rick has been a member of the United States Golf Teachers Federation since 2001 and credits some of his past instructors, some with national recognition, for his love of the swing and passion for excellence in teaching this great game.
